Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015: An exhibit not to be missed

October 27, 2015 Wes Phelan

It is no secret that NorthPark Center is the go-to place for the best selection of fashion retailers in Dallas. NorthPark is also known for making world-class works of art available to the public, which are exhibited throughout the shopping center. So, to commemorate NorthPark’s 50th anniversary, a new exhibition, Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015, was recently unveiled on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

Curated by Texas Fashion Collection Director Myra Walker, this celebratory exhibition features specific examples of dress over the past fifty years from 1965 to the present, illustrating the synergistic relationship between the world of art and what shows up on the runway. Drawn primarily from the Texas Fashion Collection at UNT, twenty-nine looks are on display alongside two series of prints by Andy Warhol that inspired two of the pieces within the exhibition.

Banowetz + Company produced a perfect-bound book that walks viewers through the various fashion statements with insights into the designers’ inspiration, as well as some back story on the designers themselves. The brochure can be picked up from the NorthPark Center Concierge desk or the NorthPark Management Office. On-site signage was also produced for the exhibition.

Here are a couple of our favorite looks. But don’t miss the actual exhibit, which will be up just through the remainder of 2015.

Sometimes Bigger IS Better: Hard hat tour of client’s new digs

June 23, 2015 Wes Phelan

Having been in business for over twenty-five years, we’ve not only grown, but we’ve also had the opportunity to celebrate the growth and milestones of some of our long-term clients. One such client (of twenty-plus years) is Ewing Automotive Group, and one such milestone is the building of their two new facilities for Mercedes-Benz of Plano and Ewing Buick GMC on the Tollway — both slated to open this fall. We were recently invited on a hard hat tour to see how the construction is coming along, and to say it is impressive is an understatement.

In order to serve their clients better, both facilities will be more conveniently located, have more space and offer more customer amenities such as customer lounges and work areas, full-service coffee bars and even areas for kids — something anyone who has ever sat in a waiting room with children will certainly appreciate. And the Mercedes-Benz of Plano service area will have 100 service bays! (Yes, as in “one-zero-zero”.) To give you a little perspective on the expanse of the two new sites, the Ewing Buick GMC location alone will have 1,000 parking spaces and the star on the new Mercedes-Benz of Plano sign will be a whopping twelve feet in diameter.

All of these changes are led by a service-oriented focus that has been the foundation of Ewing’s family-owned business for over 70 years. That same focus on their customer is one of the main reasons they are so successful, and why they need to make this move to their new location.

We’ll be helping them get the word out over the next few months via a new print campaign, direct mail, radio and digital efforts. Stay tuned for updates, some new work, and maybe a grand opening party pic or two.
